It Takes All Kinds

A man in the city, purchased the road by his house in a tax sale. How it became a private road, I don't know, but he manged to win the bid for this thing. This is an addition of many homes which use this road. He now has sent every home a "friendly" notice that he is going to be charging them fifty dollars a month to use his road. There is no other way for them to get to their homes. He stated in the letter, he is even going to be putting a video camera on both ends of the road, so that he can properly bill any car that might be using it. Of course, you can imagine the uproar this has caused in the whole community.

What a neighbor!

50 bucks a month and not a year? Well, if he tries charges for this the neighbors can all get together and say they need the road paved, they need drainage ditches put in and they need lights along the road for safety, etc. If he wants to charge, he has to do certain things to keep that safe, someone could sue him if something happen.
What a dillhole he is.

I agree with cedar... If it is going to be a toll road.. doesn't he have to have permission from the state to do so? Lights would have to be a neccessity.. for all kinds of death and destruction could happen in the dark.. I know a toll booth attendant.. who for the right price could come collect for him..LOLOL

I guess now, they are trying to determine if it is even legal for him to do this. I'm glad I don't have neighbors like him

Yeah, I'm thinking there's laws against stuff like this. At least I know we have them here in Alabama.

Unfortuantely, someone will have to go to the trouble of filing a complaint and showing up in court to get him reined in.
