Too Much Help

I have been trying to do some scraping and prep work on the trim of my house and up along the roof, but have been hindered by a few small details, one being I am terrified of heights. I finally worked up the courage to climb the ladder and do some scraping of the soffet, and do a little caulking. It takes a while because I am hanging on to the ladder for dear life, and trying to decided which hand wants to let go to reach up there to do the work. I manged to get a little area done, and while standing way up there on the ladder, heard a "meow" that seemed to be very close. I looked down towards the ground and saw nothing so decided to step down the ladder and get something I needed. As I attempted to take the first step down, something was in the way. I couldn't move my foot to a rung. It was my cat. The darn cat. He had climbed the ladder and was on the rung just under where my feet were, and he wouldn't move. I think he discovered how high he was and was a bit afraid too. I had a moment of near panic. How wasI going to get the cat out of the way so I could get down. I looked over to the neighbor's house to see if anyone was home, and thought about how long and loud I should yell to get their attention so they could come over and fetch the cat so I could move along down the ladder, and decided that wouldn't work. I decided the best thing to do was just to start yelling at the cat and kind of poke him with my foot. It worked. He gradually took a step down, and then so did I. One rung at a time and very slowly, we went down the ladder until we were both on the ground.

Stupid cat.

He was just trying to help! Let him do it.
After falling out of the swing I began thinking of you on that ladder. Please be careful as the accidents happen so fast...as I found out!
